Businesses are facing new challenges
For most companies the exchange of electronic documents with customers and suppliers over electronic data interchange (EDI) is a critical business process. Through the introduction of additional legal requirements, companies are now being confronted with additional challenges in the area of e-Invoicing. Examples include FatturaPA in Italy or the XRechnung in Germany.
Understanding the possible solutions
In light of emerging challenges, business decision-makers are faced with the question of whether electronic data interchange should be run with the help of an on-premise solution or externally by an EDI provider as a Cloud-based managed service.
In order to guarantee a future-proof solution, a comprehensive technical and economic evaluation of the individual solutions is necessary. Often not all the necessary decision criteria are taken into account when assessing the various possible outcomes. As a result, there is no proper evaluation of the individual options and companies run the risk of obtaining an uneconomic or non future-proof solution.
