HENN’s existing EDI solution

Before introducing ecosio’s EDI as a Service solution, HENN was using an inexpensive but outdated EDI solution. Although this was easy to use, it caused a lot of administrative work. There were also challenges with certificate customisation and connection security.

“As the number of enquiries from customers and suppliers increased, it became increasingly difficult to fulfil the requirements,” says HENN Connector Group’s Martin Woitsche. “The existing solution was no longer ‘state of the art’, as the IT department was increasingly burdened with issues such as security, backup and connection handling.”

Why HENN chose ecosio

HENN opted for ecosio because it was looking for a fully managed solution that would be able to simplify and future-proof their EDI processes (a situation also shared by several of HENN’s sibling companies).

Another key deciding factor was the level of integration ecosio was able to offer with HENN’s existing ERP system. Plus, HENN had also heard many good things about ecosio from a neighbouring company.

Project overview

The main objective of the project was to migrate existing EDI processes to ecosio. This changeover was carried out in a structured and efficient manner, enabling customers to be onboarded to the new system quickly.

A particular area of success was the speed and efficiency with which ecosio’s solution was integrated into HENN’s ERP system.

As Woitsche notes, “The collaboration with ecosio was professional and solution-orientated right from the start. We were particularly impressed by the rapid implementation and competent support.”

Increased efficiency and process optimisation

The new solution has enabled HENN to achieve significant improvements in its processes:

  • Less IT effort: IT no longer has to deal with connection types or protocols, as ecosio handles everything.
  • Automated order processing: No more manual entry = fewer errors and faster processes.
  • Faster integration of new business partners: The time required to implement new connections has been reduced by up to 70%.
  • Fewer connection problems: The number of support requests required to establish connections has fallen by 80%.

Looking forwards

HENN recognises that EDI should be a central component of corporate strategy. With this in mind, and following the success of HENN’s collaboration with ecosio so far, HENN intends to expand its collaboration with ecosio in the future by digitalising additional business processes.
