Maestrani relies on ecosio for a smooth EDI changeover
Maestrani Schweizer Schokoladen AG is a Swiss-based company with a rich tradition and a reputation for high-quality chocolate products. With over 150 years of history, the company combines traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation to create excellent chocolate experiences. The company also places high value on sustainability, favouring fair-trade raw materials and resource-conserving production processes.
Before switching to ecosio’s EDI solution, Maestrani used a different provider for electronic data interchange. After this provider went out of business, the company was faced with the challenge of finding a new solution that would allow EDI operations to continue smoothly. It was particularly important to migrate the existing partners and data structures quickly and seamlessly in order to avoid delays to business processes.
ecosio was considered as a potential new partner on the recommendation of the previous service provider. The following were key factors in the decision:

The changeover to ecosio was a structured and efficient process. First, the existing EDI setups were analysed. Maestrani had around 30 trading partners with a total of 65 EDI relations, including orders, delivery notes and invoices, which had to be migrated to the new platform. While the basic structure of the EDI processes did not change, some minor adjustments to the internal ERP system were required to ensure smooth data exchange.
In close co-operation with ecosio, all partners and EDI processes were implemented and tested step by step. The migration process was organised in such a way that there were no interruptions to ongoing operations. Despite the extensive changeover, the project ran without any major complications. All systems were successfully migrated to ecosio within six months – right on schedule. The transition was completed by the end of December 2023, allowing the new EDI operations to continue seamlessly.
