What does a typical ecosio day look like for you?

I don’t think I have a typical day. But what is typical is that as soon as I enter the office, things always go smoothly *laughs*. But it’s also typical that I already use my journey to the office to sort myself out so that I have my day well in view. What is a typical week for me now? A full calendar, always mastering unexpected situations and a lot of improvisation. Usually my day starts between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., assuming that I am going to the office.

But I live our flexible working hours. Sometimes my day starts at 6:30 am on my laptop at home, then I work until 7 or 8 am and only go to the office after that – especially for tasks that require my rest and that need to be done urgently. Nevertheless, I’m often in the office by 9 a.m. and already have the first milestone that I can tick off.

Has ecosio impacted your life outside of work?

I have been with ecosio for 4 ½ years now. Many friendships have already developed, especially with Julia, which also means that I see her a lot in my free time. We often meet on Sundays to go for a walk on the Danube Island, and my dog is there too. This is our “business/private” time, because we talk privately, but of course also talk a lot about work – reviewing the current situation, also doing a lot of strategy work, which gets lost in daily business. This is also a good balance for us to process and reflect on everyday office life.

I prefer to spend my lunch breaks with my colleagues, where I try to bring in some variety. Often, I just eat during my breaks, but if I can manage it, I always try to have lunch with different people.

What has changed from your first month at ecosio to last month?

We are about five times as many people, we have a new office and my area of responsibility has probably also changed five times. I have given up many tasks in the meantime, many new tasks have been added, more responsibility and a larger team – a lot has changed.

I started out as an assistant to the management and was also one of the first commercial employees. From recruiting, legal matters, accounting, administrative issues, office assistant and classic management assistance, from hosting guests to making appointments – even marketing was partly up to me. In the meantime we have an entire marketing department consisting of six colleagues. We have our own personnel department with Hannah to look after the existing staff, Christina for recruiting and Justina in office management. So a lot has simply happened here. When I think about it now: the commercial department, which consisted of Christoph, Julia and me, now comprises more than 15 people.

What have you learnt?

To take every situation as it is and always make the best out of it. To this day, I am still faced with changes and tasks, in growth there are always new opportunities that have not been there before. There are always things that happen for the first time. I believe that you simply have to face stressful and less stressful days with the same verve and can thus master even the seemingly most difficult tasks over and over again.

What is your next goal?

My goal is to continue to strive for perfection or excellence. I will achieve this together with a great team. I want success for the team and for me – and also to keep the satisfaction within the team high during the next big steps!

What makes working at ecosio so special for you?

I actually think about this fairly often. I’d say: on the one hand, the constant new challenges and responsibilities, on the other hand, the freedom and scope for creativity. You can always see what you’ve already created and the ongoing development in all areas is still attractive to me after all this time.

What I also really appreciate at ecosio is the fact that we have three managing directors who couldn’t be more different and yet make major decisions together. And if there is a problem, you can be sure that one of the three always knows a solution. That gives you a lot of security and I have a good feeling that no matter what happens, we will always know what to do.
